How to Use Google's New AI Tools to Supercharge Your Marketing Workflow

What It Is

Google doesn't sell this as one standalone "marketing suite." What's real is a set of Gemini-powered writing features built directly into Google Workspace apps: Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets. The core tools are Help me write (draft or rewrite text from a prompt) and, in Docs, the newer Help me create (generates a full first draft, pulling context from your Drive files, Gmail, Chat, and the web). None of it is marketing-specific, it is general-purpose writing assistance that marketing teams, among everyone else at a company, can use.

Key Features

  • Help me write, in Gmail and Docs: Turn a subject line, a few bullet points, or a rough prompt into a full draft, right inside the compose window or document.
  • Help me create, in Docs: Generates a fully formatted first draft that synthesizes information already in your Drive files, emails, and chat, not just what you type into the prompt.
  • Match writing style and Match format: Keeps tone consistent across a document with multiple contributors, or copies the structure of an existing document or template. Google currently labels both of these as beta.
  • Context-aware assistance: Gemini in Docs can ground its answers in your other Workspace files and approved sources, not only the document you currently have open.

Best Use Cases

  • First-draft generation: Turning a prompt or a handful of bullet points into a full draft email or document instead of starting from a blank page.
  • Consistent tone across a team doc: Using Match writing style when several people are contributing to the same file and the tone has drifted.
  • Drafting from existing context: Pulling in relevant Drive files, emails, and chat threads so a first draft is already grounded in what your team has already written, instead of starting fresh every time.

Pricing Model

For individuals, basic Gemini features are free with any Google account, once Workspace smart features are enabled. For higher usage limits and Gemini's most capable model, the paid consumer tier is Google AI Pro at $19.99 per month, this is what used to be marketed as Gemini Advanced before Google renamed it in 2026.

For businesses, there is no separate Gemini add-on to buy anymore. Google discontinued that in March 2025 and folded Gemini directly into paid Workspace plans. Business Starter, roughly $7 per user per month on annual billing, includes only limited Gemini access in Gmail. Business Standard, roughly $14 per user per month annual, is the minimum tier for full Gemini across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet. Business Plus runs roughly $22 per user per month, and Enterprise is custom-quoted. Month-to-month billing costs more than annual billing on every tier.

My Take

If your team already lives in Gmail and Docs, this is a low-friction way to speed up first drafts, and it is genuinely useful for that. Go in with the right expectations, though: this is not a dedicated marketing tool with campaign-specific features, it is general writing assistance that happens to work fine for marketing copy too. Do not expect built-in SEO scoring, audience analytics, or campaign tracking, none of that exists here. It is a good fit for teams that want faster first drafts inside tools they already use. It is a weaker fit if you need dedicated marketing-ops features like SEO optimization, multi-channel campaign management, or approval workflows. One real caveat: some of the newest Docs features, Match writing style and Match format, are still labeled beta by Google, and the promotional higher usage limits on them were set to expire in mid-2026, after which normal per-plan limits apply, so check your actual quota before building a workflow around them.
